The translation of the name literally means <i>\u201cWeapon Hand Motion\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Armas-Kali <span class=\"Apple-style-span\">is a\u00a0<\/span>curriculum based around Filipino, Thai and Okinawan weapons arts. \u00a0Students will\u00a0study the five main types of weapon use:<\/p>\n<p><b>1. Impact Weapons:<\/b> Sticks, Staffs, Clubs etc.<br \/>\n<b>2. Edged Weapons:<\/b> Knives, Swords, hatchet \u00a0etc.<br \/>\n<b>3. Puncture Weapons:<\/b> Knife, Spear, Sword, etc.<br \/>\n<b>4. Projectile Weapons:<\/b> Knives, Rocks, Arrows, Guns etc..<br \/>\n<b>5. Flexible Weapons:<\/b> Sarong, Malong, T-Shirt, Rope<\/p>\n<p>The curriculum consists of Slashing, Thrusting, Hacking, Striking, Disarms, Trapping, Locks &amp; Tie-Ups.\u00a0 Students will learn all these elements as well as develop coordination, timing, range, foot &amp; body movement, speed, power and grace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main weapons taught in\u00a0Armas-Kali are:<\/strong><br \/>\nSingle &amp; Double Stick<br \/>\nSingle &amp; Double Knife<br \/>\nSingle &amp; Double Sword<br \/>\nEspada Y Daga<br \/>\nKarambit<br \/>\nStaff<\/p>\n<p>Because we believe martial arts is a continual study, our curriculum is constantly evolving and improving.\u00a0 This makes Armas-Kali and art which can be practiced throughout your entire life.<\/p>\n<h1><b><i>Student Rank Pro<\/i><\/b><b><i>g<\/i><\/b><b><i>ression:<\/i><\/b><\/h1>\n<h3><b style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No Flag<\/span>:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Entry Level&#8230; All new students are considered to be &#8220;No Flag&#8221;.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"color: #000000;\"><b style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Yellow Flag<\/span>:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Intro to basic inside disarms, flow patterns, and\u00a0more,<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"color: #000000;\"><b style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Green Flag<\/span>:<\/b>\u00a0Intro to basic outside disarms, joint locks, and more.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"color: #000000;\"><b style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Blue Flag<\/span>:<\/b>\u00a0Intro to the Knife Matrix, cutting combinations, adv. disarms and more.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"color: #000000;\"><b style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Red Flag<\/span>:<\/b>\u00a0Blending the different ranges with the stick, knife disarms, and more.<\/h3>\n<h3><b style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Brown Flag<\/span>:<\/b>\u00a0Intro to stick-chokes, advanced techniques &amp; timing, and more.<\/h3>\n<h3><b style=\"color: #000000;\">Black Flag<\/b>\u00a0<b style=\"color: #000000;\">Levels 1-5 (Black Belt):<\/b>\u00a0 Continuing education in weapon use.<\/h3>\n<h1><b><i>Instructor Rank Pro<\/i><\/b><b><i>g<\/i><\/b><b><i>ression:<\/i><\/b><\/h1>\n<p><b>Training Group Leader: <\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is not actually a rank, but more of a show of trust between the individual and KSK Martial Arts, to set a good example for the learning process of the student.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Apprentice Instructor: <\/b><b>(Jo-Shu)<\/b> This means you are learning how to teach.\u00a0 Apprentice instructors do not have the ability to rank their students yet.\u00a0 Minimum 1 year as a Training Group Leader. \u00a0Student membership must also be current and in good standing.<\/p>\n<p><b>Associate Instructor:<\/b> This rank shows that both you and your students are showing increased ability and comprehension of the material.\u00a0 Apprentice instructors do not have the ability to rank their students yet.\u00a0 Minimum 1 year as an Apprentice Instructor.<\/p>\n<p><b>Level-1 Instructor: <\/b><b>(Guro)<\/b> May promote students to Yellow &amp; Green Flag.\u00a0 Must demonstrate an effective ability to teach up through Green Flag, therefore the Instructor must have at least one student submitted for evaluation and promotion to Green Flag in order to assess the Instructor\u2019s ability to effectively pass on the information.<\/p>\n<p><b>Level-2 Instructor:<\/b> May promote students to Blue &amp; Red Flags.\u00a0 Must demonstrate an effective ability to teach up through Red Flag, therefore the Instructor must have at least one student submitted for evaluation and promotion to Red Flag in order to assess the Instructor\u2019s ability to effectively pass on the information.<\/p>\n<p><b>Level-3 Instructor: <\/b>May promote students to Brown &amp; Black Flag.\u00a0 Must demonstrate an effective ability to teach up through Black Flag, therefore the Instructor must have at least one student submitted for evaluation and promotion to Black Flag in order to assess the Instructor\u2019s ability to effectively pass on the information.<\/p>\n<p><b>Level-4 Instructor: <\/b>May promote students to Black Flag Level-2 and Apprentice Instructor.\u00a0 Must demonstrate an effective ability to teach up through Black Flag Level-2, therefore the Instructor must have at least one student submitted for evaluation and promotion to Black Flag Level-2 and sponsor one of their students for an Apprentice Instructors license in order to assess the Instructor\u2019s ability to effectively pass on the information. This would give the new Apprentice Instructor our endorsement to start a Training Group of their own if they so desire.<\/p>\n<p><b>Full Instructor:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0May promote students to Black Flag Level-3.\u00a0 Must demonstrate an effective ability to teach up through Black Flag Level-3, therefore the Instructor must have at least one student submitted for evaluation and promotion to Black Flag Level-3 in order to assess the Instructor\u2019s ability to effectively pass on the information. It also gives the Instructor permission to individually promote the Apprentice instructor under them to the individual ranks of Associate Instructor, and Instructor Levels-1,2,3,4.<\/p>\n<p><b>Senior Full Instructor:\u00a0 <\/b>May promote a Level-4 Instructor to a Full Instructor.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">NOTE:<\/span> <\/strong>In order to be recognized and\/or promoted to each Instructor Rank, the Instructor\u2019s membership must be current and in good standing. \u00a0Instructors must also maintain a level of regular training either at K.S.K. Martial Arts,<i>\u00a0<\/i>through attendance at seminars &amp; camps, and\/or private instruction with Guro T.
